Last week, UAE Driver was able to visit the Toyota DFC showroom and have a look at the 2016 TLC… Initial thoughts: Similar body shape as the previous generation, just a refreshed look. We are arranging for drives, but as of yet, there are no demo models available for a couple of days. We have been assured we shall be invited. Each model gets equipment upgrades in comparison to it’s outgoing sibling. Lots of new toys for the top end range too, with the introduction of an eight-speed auto replacing the previous six speed transmission. From previous experience, numerous gears can cause the ‘box to ‘trip up’ over gear selection, so we will be quite interested to see how this one holds up to the job. Same engines are still available, with the 4.0 V6, 4.6 & 5.7 V8’s. Base model price is 209k (@ $52k) to a eye-popping 325k (@ $89k) for the top spec. Stay tuned for the drive report!!
